Day 6 - A photo that makes you smile

My babies!  How could a Momma not smile?!

Hello everyone!  Awww I have to share a little story with you all about something that happened this morning.  One of the girls at work came into the office a little later than usual looking really upset.  Apparentlly the police had cordoned off a section of the road just outside work.  A duck was sitting in the middle of the road, just sitting, not moving and to the side of the road  there was a policeman holding  a see through plastic bag with about 8 ducklings in it, all presumably dead :(    So very sad.

About ten minutes later however, we noticed the policeman walking along the service road outside our office with the same plastic bag - and we could clearly see that all of the duckilngs were alive!!  Momma duck was waddling along behind him and bringing up the rear was a policewoman.  We were so relieved and touched that I don't mind admitting that there were few glistening eyes in the place, mine included.  They were obviously leading the duck back the canal where they would release Momma and babies back to safety.  How's that for a heartwarming story eh?!  If I hadn't witnessed it first hand then I wouldn't have believed it!  I so wish I'd been able to take photos for you but I hope that you'll be able to see it in your mind's eye. Gold star for the Brit Police eh?!!

  1. I'm enjoying these posts so much :o)
Lovely photo - no wonder it's a favourite. As for the ducks...what a lovely tale, the police involved were obviously animal lovers.

  3. Lovely photo!
I once saw a car blocking the road and when we got close, there was a very big man, moving a very tiny rabbit onto the verge- Ahhhh.
